Reviewing Paul Griffin & Anita Stefanovic, Owners & Photographers of Images With Attitude
Review is written by Staff @ The Ring and is based on • Interviews with this vendor • Interviews with past brides • Our experiences
When John Cormier and his new bride Alisha walked down the aisle after saying “I Do” in front of family and friends on July 9th, 2011, there was one smiling face they were especially glad to see. It was Paul, one of their photographers, walking backwards just ahead of them, ready to capture that special first walk together as man and wife. Not far away snapping candid's of happy guests watching the couple exit the ceremony was Anita, the other half of Images With Attitude Photography.
This photographic dynamo put John and Alisha at ease from the moment they met them months before. The couple were so impressed with their warmth and positivity that they knew they had to have them capture their wedding day.
And countless other couples would agree. With years of experience and a philosophy that you should do whatever it takes to get that perfect shot, Images With Attitude is a "must check out" for brides in Southwestern Ontario. Let us explain...
Personally Speaking
Paul Griffin and Anita Stefanovic bring with them backgrounds in professional commercial photography and graphic design, among a long list of other credentials. Anita's background includes over ten years of graphic design working on international magazines ( including the Wedding Ring's own biannual publication!).
And her industry experience isn't limited to design and photography. Anita owned a very popular wedding gown boutique in Europe that had line ups of brides dreaming of the dresses they would be wearing on their wedding day.
Paul's background in professional commercial photography gives him a very strong technical knowledge that is used to enhance every shooting situation that arises on your wedding day. Couples are always amazed when reviewing their proofs to see how crisp and clear the images are. They know that their images will stand the test of time, and will not be hidden in a closet years from now looking dated by today’s “popular” photoshop effects.
For Paul and Anita, the past five years of owning Images with Attitude has been an incredible experience and has allowed them to constantly grow and expand, "We want every one of our couples to be inspired when they look back at their wedding day memories. We love hearing from people that have seen our work and go on to trust us to capture their special day”.
Images With Attitude Philosophy
With Anita, it's about going to whatever length necessary to get the shot 'just right'. She has been described as the hardest working photographer in the region. She is known to lie on the ground in the pouring rain or put herself in the most precarious position in order to get the best and most flattering angles and perspective. How many photographers do you know that will do that on your wedding day!?
Paul and Anita also know that shots of the wedding party and the guests are just as important to the couple, so they will direct and incorporate guests into shots, energizing them and preventing stilted and boring shots. In fact, many guests at Alisha and John’s wedding called them “Photo Ninjas” as they seamlessly directed guests but never got in their way. “We get right in the middle of the action when it’s required, and we know when to back off.” It is that balance that endears their subjects to them and thus allows them to catch peoples’ true emotions. According to Alisha, “they are really good at catching those moments you can’t arrange, the twinkle in your eyes, a shared laugh, maybe a stolen kiss”. They both have a keen sense of humour and are very personable which allows people to be themselves in their presence.
For John and Alicia, seeing Paul and Anita’s excited faces capture their first married moments made their wedding day even better. After an amazing engagement photo session where Paul and Anita truly went above and beyond, they couldn’t wait to see the variety of “images with attitude” this picture taking team would create on their big day.

Corrie and Adam McInroy loved the vibe they got from Paul and Anita when they were looking for a photographer for their October 2010 wedding. “They were both so relaxed, personable and through their portfolio demonstrated the style of photography that we were after. Their pictures captured fun, our personalities and are of a great quality (lighting, positioning, background).”
Recent bride Julia and her fiancé loved Paul and Anita’s personalities and artistic flair. “They made us feel very comfortable and their professionalism put us at ease,” adds Julia. “Paul and Anita worked together so well. They really fed off each other’s ideas and worked together to create perfect pictures of both our engagement and wedding.”
Professional by design
Since opening Images With Attitude, Paul and Anita have invested heavily in the top of the line photography equipment to guarantee that their couples receive the best possible wedding photos that can be produced. The bright, clean, crisp look of their images comes from the combination of the highest quality lenses, professional training and a kiss of just the right amount of light.
iWed video album
Paul and Anita’s wedding photography packages include their popular iWed video albums. They bring wedding day memories to life through stills, video and voice. Not only you can you enjoy them anyplace - from your computer to your tablet to your TV, but it's a great way to share your wedding day with family and friends that were not able to attend the wedding. When we talked to Paul about the iWed video, he let us in on a little secret: "Brides love the iWed video albums so much that they will often secretly watch it at work... don't worry, we won't tell."

On your wedding day...
For Paul and Anita, the tone of most wedding days can be described as “controlled chaos.” Their main goal with the wedding party is to make sure everyone is feeling comfortable, that everything is running smoothly and of course, that they capture all of those important moments on your wedding day - not just in still photos but also in complimentary video. For the guys, they aim to “gain their trust so they are at ease and willing to work with us the rest of the day.” For example, Paul and Anita will shoot the guys in a hot tub or on a king sized bed, for a bit of fun before the wedding and some awesome stand-out shots.
With the girls, Paul and Anita will often meet at the bride’s home or follow them to the salon where they are getting ready so as to not miss any of those precious prep moments. Here they will remind the wedding party of any 'need to knows' for the ceremony and make sure the girls are staying on schedule, Anita laughs, "sometimes the girls need to be coaxed to hurry up.".
During the ceremony Paul and Anita’s well rehearsed “dance” comes into affect so that no part of your ceremony gets missed. They have been working closely together for so many years that they always know what the other is thinking and shooting - one quick look between them confirms that the moment was captured. To ensure that your vows are crisp and clear for the iWed video album, they equip the groom with a small microphone. “This will allow the two of you to later relive these subtle moments that can’t be heard in just a photo album”.
After the ceremony, Paul and Anita usually take the formal family shots. They also make sure to get to know family members so that they are comfortable and relaxed in front of the camera (Paul easily charmed Alisha’s 82-year old grandmother).
They spend the time working with the couple and taking those intimate shots of the bride and groom that they will undoubtedly cherish forever. "This is where the trust is most crucial. This is where they truly show the love they have for each other."
At this point, Paul and Anita will also shoot the bridal party at location that you've worked out together beforehand. And because of years of experience, they are also always ready to suggest a back-up plan in case the weather is an issue.
Next, it's off to the reception to capture all of the significant moments of the evening. This is another part of the day where their professional understanding of a great exposure is key to getting the best shots. Paul and Anita will "capture the subtle nuances of a dimly lit reception hall without making it appear as though you had your reception in a dark cave."
After your wedding day, you will receive a link to your photos to share with family and friends. From here you will choose your favourite images for your album and enlargements. As a fully equipped imaging specialist, Images With Attitude will custom design and produce your album and have it in your hands within a month. Custom printed enlargements, canvas prints and parent albums can also be ordered. Your iWed video album is provided on a DVD, and also uploaded for you to enjoy online and share with family and friends.
As the only vendor couples deal with after the wedding, Paul and Anita always make it a smooth and enjoyable process, "It's so important to us that you feel that you have dealt with true professionals."
Images With Attitude is bringing experience, equipment and commitment to capture “The Love Story” of your big day.
