For Vince Pasqualino, Sabrina Quessy and the whole creative team at Evolution Concepts in Hair & Spa, going beyond just the wedding day look for their brides is something they pride themselves on. Through their (free) bridal consultations they try to learn each bride’s personality and adapt a look to suit them, while keeping up with and understanding the latest looks and trends in all bridal aspects, not just the hair.

With a motto "To deliver superlative guest services in an inspired space that is respectful to both mankind and the environment," it's no wonder that brides already love Evolution.

We've known Vince and Sabrina for years, have seen their fabulous looks on the runways at the Bingemans Bridal Shows and have had the pleasure to work with them for several issues of Wedding Ring Magazine. And yet, they continue to amaze us. We also love their newly added customized shower and stagette packages, and their continued attention to all aspects of a bride's wedding day look from hair to make-up and relaxing spa and aesthetic services. We recently met up with Vince and Sabrina again in their gorgeous new salon and they were just as excited and as enthusiastic to tell us, as we were to hear, about what they can do to make a bride's look perfect. Let us tell you more…

Personally speaking…

Evolution Concepts in Hair & Spa is the realization of a dream that began many years ago for Owner Vince Pasqualino. In 1997, Vince began training under his Uncle, a well respected and accomplished designer, which turned into a career in hair design. Vince was a platform artist for Sebastian International and was trained under world renowned ICON Robert Labetta, which lead him to his job at ICON International. Through this experience and training, Vince has become an artist with a unique vision for hair design, which he now expresses at Evolution.

Sabrina Quessy, the Bridal Consultant at Evolution, says she specializes in hair and make-up, which she has been doing for brides since 2001. But her own evolution never ends and she "continues to educate herself in the latest trends and fashions, not only in hair and make-up, but jewellery, accessories, wedding dresses and shoes." Sabrina says she thrives on the magical energy of brides and weddings.

While Evolution opened in July 2005, they have been specializing in weddings for the last ten years. In the past year alone, the team at Evolution catered to over fifty bridal parties.

But it's not just Vince and Sabrina who raise the bar at Evolution as the entire team is trained and experienced in bridal hair styles and make-up. "We are all inspired by each other’s unique and individual talents."

Which is perfect since each team member plays "a key role in the success of planning, executing and following through with the events that lead up to that special day and making it as complete as possible," says Sabrina.

Aside from educating themselves on the newest and latest trends and travelling to various Academies to upgrade their skills, Evolution has also been a part of the past two Bingemans Bridal Shows – doing up-styles and make-up for the runway models. We also had the privelege of experiencing Evolution's creativity for photo shoots for issues 4, 6 and 7 of Wedding Ring Magazine (formerly Bridal News Magazine).

Inside the spa…

Partnering with a company that mirrors their beliefs is a priority at Evolution, which is why they chose Davines International that has roots in Parma Italy. "The Davines pioneering spirit means tirelessly exploring ideas beyond trends while finding inspiration in history and the world around us." After partnering with Davines, Evolution opened their multi-space salon in Kitchener.

Plus, to make the space even cooler, Evolution is also committed to minimizing their impact on the environment. By changing their lighting, recycling and using more green products, Evolution has become a Zero Impact Salon. "Our goal is to create environmental awareness and try to 'infect' those around us," says Sabrina. "By partnering with LifeGate International and their reforestation projects, we will be neutralizing our stylists' carbon emissions. Stylists can literally represent a piece of the earth."

By creating “beauty”, Evolution says they want to encourage people to take care of themselves, of the environment in which they live and work, and of the things they love. "Our particular brand of beauty cannot work without practical and visible efforts, 'sustainable' efforts. For us, sustainability deals with the responsibility we owe to ourselves, the people with which we work, our customers, the world in which we live and operate today and tomorrow."

What a bride wants...

The ideal bride for Evolution, is every bride. "No two people are alike whether it’s a simple bride, extravagant bride, serious, chic, sexy, easy going, they are all looking for someone to help them achieve their look for their special day," says Sabrina. The ranging styles of brides allow the staff at Evolution to be more creative on every level and more artistic in order to manipulate the hair into new shapes unique to each individual.

"Modern with a classic feel" was how Sharon Stavrou described Evolution's style. She had her hair, make-up and nails done at Evolution for her September 2009 wedding and says that everyone there was very dedicated to making sure she was happy on her special day.

Rachel Sommers described Evolution's style as friendly and inviting, yet professional and posh. She had her hair, make-up, manicure, pedicure and a massage all done at Evolution for her August 2009 wedding and says that it was a great experience. "I felt comfortable that I was in the hands of people who knew what they were doing and would ensure it ran smoothly."

"There is something to be said about working with brides," says Sabrina who clearly has a passion for what she does. "It is truly the most amazing feeling to work with a bride and build that relationship on a more personal level." And because each bride has her own unique personality, Sabrina says that each look is customized to reflect that personality. "We are inspired by this and also the aura of excitement and pure happiness that comes from the bride on her special day."

It starts with a consultation...

Sabrina says she doesn't think that Evolution has a product or service that's more popular than others, and brides tend to love the whole package. "When people come to us it is for a purpose – to feel good and look good," she told The Ring. "That is a process that we do specialize in on our hair side as well as our spa side. By combined efforts we work on relaxation of the mind and body, and through confidence and self esteem through beauty and sustainability."

Evolution offers a wide variety of wedding essentials, including free bridal consultations so they can meet with each bride. "This is where we discuss everything from their theme, the dress, shoes, accessories, flowers, colour and most important, their hair and make-up," explains Sabrina.

Going deeper than just the look, Evolution tries to learn everything they can about each bride's personality and other aspects of their wedding day, telling us that "it makes us aware of how to bring your personality out through your overall look in what you are looking for."

"Sabrina was really great," says Sharon. "She took the time to ask what I wanted and made sure I was happy with what she was doing along the way. Everyone was really friendly."

Evolution believes that every wedding is as individual as its bride. "We pride ourselves in creating the perfect customized experience for each of our brides and those she loves," which is why they have Sabrina, the bridal consultant to help contribute to this one of a kind experience. Sabrina says she believes it's her business to build a personal relationship with each of her brides.

"When I went to meet with Sabrina, I was impressed with her knowledge and all of the services they could provide..." says Rachel. The day that she had her trial hair and make-up done was one of her favourite memories of working with Evolution. "When I saw what Sabrina could do, I was thrilled and knew I had made the right choice."

More than just hairspray

Aside from the usual up-do's and fancy bridal hair and make-up, Sabrina adds that they also offer hair accessories to add a personal touch to the hair or jewellery. As well as clip in hair extensions and real hair Euro extensions matched to your hair colour during the consultation.

As if the customized service weren't enough, Evolution also offers a continental breakfast for the bridal party the morning of the wedding.

And, to make sure your look stays flawless all day, you also have the option of taking your stylist or make-up artist with you for your entire wedding day.

Rachel found Evolution to be very reasonably priced considering the service and quality she received.

The ultimate bachelorette…

As a great way to start off an evening out with the girls, or as a fun gift idea for the bride or bridesmaids, Evolution has recently added bachelorette parties to their complete bridal packages. Organized by Sabrina, the parties are customized to suit either the nice or naughty bride…

On top of taking care of your hair and make-up for your special day, Evolution also offers complete spa services with enough room to accommodate a large bridal party; something that Sharon said was very convenient on her wedding day. She adds that Evolution's prices were fair for what she received and fit within her budget.

"Evolution has a team of professionals that could work on my entire bridal party," exclaims Rachel, who had ten people in total.

Which is something that Rachel certainly did.
