Luxury accommodations, local cuisine and fabulous wedding specialists make Delta Guelph a top choice for Southwestern Ontario couples

For the wedding professionals at Delta Guelph Hotel and Conference Centre, it's all about taking care of your every wedding detail- so that you don't have to! Their team works tirelessly to ensure that their brides get exactly what they've been dreaming of-even if that means catering to the most challenging requests...like having a monkey as part of your wedding party (yes, it has happened!). For Carla and Sarah, the catering and wedding specialists at Delta Guelph, this is all part of a day's work."Every request is different and as a team we always find a way to make it happen!"

With a menu featuring fresh local food, prepared by their award-winning Chef, and ceremony and reception options that offer the perfect mix of modern and traditional style, it's no wonder that Delta Guelph has become a must-see venue for brides. With your worries taken care of, and all your wildest dreams possible, it’s hard for even the toughest critic not to be impressed.

Let us tell you more...

Personally Speaking

Delta Guelph first came about through a partnership with the University of Guelph. Sarah explains, "We saw the demand for this sort of hotel and guests have chosen us as their venue from all over Guelph, Cambridge and the Kitchener-Waterloo area. Delta is well regarded as the only Canadian hotel company and brought Delta Guelph in to fill the void in the high end hotel and wedding market."
So, it's no surprise that since opening in 2008, the hotel has become a hot spot for weddings, averaging around thirty per year. And with the rising popularity of weddings on Fridays, long weekends and New Year’s Eve, this number continues to grow steadily.

Fresh local food

Sarah describes the entire team at Delta Guelph as, "talented in all the right areas”— from the kitchen and catering staff to their service teams. Their philosophy?  "We take care of the details so that you don't have to!"

For example, Sarah told The Ring that their award winning Chef, Cameron Bryce creates wedding menus that are, “outside of the normal catered experience.” Chef Cameron and his team have experience working at Delta hotels across Canada and have developed an enviable reputation for creating incredible menus drawing from their experience across the country.

Chef Cameron uses fresh, local ingredients to prepare meals (they even serve locally brewed beers!) and stays on top of current food and presentation trends, for a truly memorable wedding meal.

You'll also get to know Marvin and Rasti (and their team) throughout your wedding planning process. Marvin and Rasti have been with the hotel since its opening, so they know exactly how to host an incredible event at Delta Guelph!

The beautiful ballroom

While Delta Guelph offers several options for ceremony and reception locations, Sarah says their elegant Royal City Ballroom is a favourite reception location for brides. "When couples set foot inside, they usually decide it is the place for them."

The ballroom, equipped with 2 large patios, allows you and your guests to enjoy the night sky and grab some fresh air. Says Sarah, "The ability to provide a venue comparable to any large city hotel is the biggest selling feature.”

If you're looking for something a bit more intimate, Delta Guelph has you covered there too- they can host anywhere from 40 to 400 guests in one of several options at the venue.

Sarah told The Ring that brides also love the outdoor ceremony space, "Brides are enjoying the outdoor ceremony experience, coupled with the safety of an indoor reception.  Venues like the University of Guelph's Arboretum and spots along the Speed and Eramosa River are local favourites and if the weather turns the hotel can host the ceremony on-site."

Luxury accommodations

One of our favourite things about Delta Guelph is that it gives your out-of-town guests the option to stay overnight or, for the entire weekend! With luxurious accommodations, guests can look forward to your rehearsal dinner, post-wedding brunch and a range of room options, including eight large honeymoon suites. This makes for a fun, stress-free wedding weekend!

Recent bride, Amanda Klimczuk agrees. Amanda was married at the Delta Guelph and told The Ring, "Having a wedding reception at the Delta is the way to go. It is a very classy hotel with a very modern feel. They have a wonderful, friendly staff and the food is fantastic. They are also very accommodating and it is wonderful to hold a reception at a hotel. That way your guests can enjoy themselves and not have to worry about driving home. More than half of our wedding guest stayed at the hotel the night of our wedding."

Traditional style with a twist

No two couples who get married at Delta Guelph are the same, and the team attributes this to the city’s eclectic mix of people.  “Brides often feel like they need to conform to the image of a traditional bride, but more and more we are seeing couples that want to incorporate the real them into the ceremony, food, decor and atmosphere. “

Sarah describes their style as "fresh and modern" with a traditional touch. "The service at Delta Guelph is friendly, professional and accessible, but we aren’t overbearing."

Amanda Klimczuk says the atmosphere at Delta Guelph was a big reason why she fell in love with the venue, "It is one of the newest halls in the city and it has a real modern feel to it. We had both Ballroom A & B. We found it to be very spacious and very classy. We really loved the large screens that were located all around the hall and the neutral colours."

Pricing and Packages

Delta Guelph keeps it simple for their couples, with three wedding packages to choose from.
Packages range from $90 to $125 per person, however, if you have something specific in mind, Delta Guelph also offers à la carte options and can customize a package to suit your vision and budget.

Bride Amanda Klimczuk told The Ring that she was impressed with the options that Delta Guelph offered and felt it was a great value. "We really loved that all the food and alcohol was included. We didn’t have to pay a bar bill after the wedding. It was great having a set price per person. We felt that food was wonderful and worth the money!

Throughout the entire planning process, the team at Delta Guelph is with their brides, every step of the way. As their team puts it, "All you have to do is say “I do”. We’ll take care of the rest."

The week of your wedding, you will have the option to meet with the operations team to do a wedding run- through and go over any last minute details so that everything is set for your big day!
