When we met with Robin from Cambridge Hotel and Conference Centre, we were blown away by her energy and commitment to making sure that each couple enjoys a smooth, fun and hassle-free planning process. At Cambridge Hotel and Conference Centre, you'll have a team of event experts that are there to make your day happen the way you want it to. It’s all about not having to stress over the little details that can sometimes consume your planning process – such as decor set-up the night before the big day or working out a timeline with your florist – and instead, having plenty of time to actually enjoy your planning process!
Between the all-in-one location, a venue that works for any style or theme and a team that says they’re dedicated to brides, grooms and fabulous local weddings, Cambridge Hotel and Conference Centre offers a great choice for a stress-free wedding day. Let us explain....
Your wedding team....
When you get married at Cambridge Hotel and Conference Center you'll have an entire team dedicated to your wedding day.
You'll work with Banquet Manager, Kevin DaSilva, whose job is to oversee reception details such as your set-up, the timeline for your meal, and making sure that enough staff is present the night of. Kevin also works closely with Banquet Supervisor Melissa Kencher, another important team member. Melissa also helps ensure that your wedding day is smooth and stress free.
Your dinner menu is headed up by their Chef, who has several menus that you can choose from. If you don't see something you love, the team can create a customized menu with your must-haves.
Last but certainly not least, you'll work with Robin, the Special Events Manager at Cambridge Hotel and Conference Center. She's been working in the industry for eight years and is your go to person for all of your wedding questions. She's there to guide you through all of your planning, from the timing of your cocktail hour, dinner and late night menu to helping you choose your ideal menu. You'll also do your menu tasting with Robin and she'll work with you on the entire set up of the ballroom. She can also recommend some great DJ's, decorators, or any other vendors that you might need.
Robin also acts as a liaison for all of your outside vendors. So, while your busy with all of your other wedding details, she'll work out a timeline with the decorator; what items they need and anything else that might come up. She basically takes care of all of the details that are usually really time-consuming, leaving you to relax and actually enjoy the wedding planning process.
And Robin absolutely loves her role, “My favourite part of my job is getting to see all of the planning come together and knowing that I had a hand in making their day special”
An all in one location...
One of our favourite things about Cambridge Hotel and Conference Centre is that you can have your ceremony, reception and accommodation, all under one roof.
Next, your guests can make the short trip to the beautifully pillared Sussex Ballroom. Robin says it's a wonderful space that can be transformed into anything you've been dreaming of, "The reception rooms offer unique attributes to suit different styles of receptions, and are tastefully styled so that your wedding decor is the focus of your guests' attention. Service from our dedicated staff leaves you free to be the ultimate host to your family, friends and loved ones on your special day."
And at the end of the evening, your guests will love that they don't have to worry about transportation home. Cambridge Hotel and Conference Centre has 138 guest rooms and suites "we're amongst the most spacious and luxurious in Cambridge. The largest in our class, the rooms are exquisitely appointed with contemporary furnishings, upscale bedding and signature amenities."
And each room is furnished with everything a family might need, like wired and wireless internet connections, executive work desks, twenty-four hour access to the fitness facility, individual climate control, complimentary local and 1-800 telephone calls, 27" flat screen television, iron & ironing board, and in room coffee and tea making facilities.
Your guests are also within walking distance of tons of amenities like shopping ( and we mean fabulous outlet shopping!) and tons of restaurants. You're also super close to antiques shops, family outings like the African Lion Safari and plenty of challenging golf courses.
The all in one location was something that Kelly Lou Best loved about her July 2010 wedding, "The entire wedding can be done under one roof so it's more than convenient for guests. They show up, park and stay until they are ready to head home. Plus it's great to chat with guests the following morning at breakfast. And they reserved the patio for all of our wedding guests that stayed the night."
Some extra perks...
With Cambridge Hotel and Conference Center, you can choose the menu that works best for you. There's an ala carte option or, several all inclusive Wedding packages (includes wine, a four hour open bar, appetizers, your entree, and late night services). And if you still don't find the perfect package, Robin can tailor an individual package just for you!
There are also some great extras included like white linens (including table cloths and napkins) centerpieces, tea lights, risers for your head table, a podium and microphone, a dance floor and a screen and projector for a slide show.
And Robin's personalized service means support and advice from your very first meeting, through to the final touches. She’s available from Monday to Friday, whether you've got a quick question, or you have some big items that you'd like to go over, you can reach her by email, phone or in person, anytime.
Kelly Lou Best raves about her favourite things at the Cambridge Hotel and Conference Centre, "A big time favourite thing.......small details that even I overlooked were looked after by the amazing staff during the entire meal. AND THE FOOD. Everyone was so happy with the food. It was all so delicious. I would recommend getting married here and so would many of my guests!"

And the guys can get together and have some fun too! They’ll love the 19th Hole golf simulator and a delicious meal of lasagna, meatball and Italian subs, Caesar salad and pitchers of beer.
Catering to your style
Robin has worked on all sorts of weddings, from rocker themed to winter wonderlands. She says that no matter what you're thinking of, she can make it happen.
"We work with all sorts of themes and styles but one thing that our couples have in common is that they're usually fun, local, sweet, down-to-earth people who are obviously in love."
Robin says this fits in perfectly with the staff's philosophy at Cambridge Hotel, "We're professional yet casual and very flexible!"
