The currently established company started unintentionally. Tom purchased a tent to use for various events with his previous business but in turn found a need for this type of rental in the area. With this in mind he purchased another tent and then yet another to keep up with the demand. The rest is, as they say, is history.
The company has been open since 2002 and they’ve serviced the wedding industry since the early beginnings. Weddings now account for a large part of their business.
They have done 1000 weddings since the company started and over 200 in the past year alone.
The team at Burke’s continues to find the business rewarding and there is such a fun party atmosphere among their clients.

Tom’s knowledge of the industry was gathered through his 26 years in customer service and many years in management. He also got a taste of weddings and big events through prior catering experience.

Versatile style that pops
They roll with the style of the brides that come to them keeping in mind each couple is unique and has their own personal preferences. Their décor can accommodate traditional, simplistic or “celeb-style weddings,” but their most requested look is elegant and well-groomed.

A forecast for tent trends
Tom says some of his brides who are more concerned about weather issues are now opting to take the tent style wedding indoors.
“We have been transforming more halls, arenas, sheds, and old buildings recently than ever before. We offer various options to them with different lighting effects, curtains around the perimeter of the room, draping in some ceilings and even tents inside the building. “
He adds that the latest trend for the company in table coverings is spandex, which gives a “clean fitted look” to the tables. Tom predicts this stretchy trend will be a popular item this year.

Walking you through it
Once you contact the company requesting information or a quote you might follow up with an office visit, ask for an inspection of your site location, or continue corresponding by phone or email until all the requirements or details of your order is covered.
You can request pictures, CAD drawings and references so there are no surprises.
When you do book, the company can provides you with a Party Cad drawing if necessary to show a visual of your layout and ensure adequate space for your event.
Two to three weeks before your set up date, the company will go over all the details and final quantities, and schedule delivery times and any preparations you require.
The tents are installed a minimum of two days prior to the event, which allows you some time to prepare, decorate and get everything ready for your special day.
A day or two later someone will come back to remove the items you rented and dismantle the tent that held all your happy guests a couple days previous.
Weddings in public settings are usually arranged for the same day, and trained staff is on site with plenty of time to spare to make sure everything runs smoothly.

Details, details, details
Burke’s recommends you book the items you desire six to twelve months before your wedding. One third of the deposit is required when you book.
You can get a quote and an initial consultation at no cost. If you would like Burke’s to arrange a site inspection there is a small fee, which is 100 per cent refundable if you end up booking with them.
