Venue: Revival House | Photo: Behind the Sceens Photography

BRIDE & GROOM: Chelsey Orphan & James Wheeler

WEDDING DATE: October 22nd, 2016

LOCATION: Revival House, Stratford (revival.house)

“We fell in love with this venue the first time we walked through their door. They offered everything in one location. We loved their cathedral ceilings, stained glass windows, organ bar and amazing food! The staff were so friendly from the first moment we met and did everything they could to accommodate us. Alysha, the wedding coordinator, really was the final check on our list. Her charming personality and attention to detail let us know from day one that she was on our side and was as excited about the wedding as we were!” – C&J

DIY PROJECTS: Chelsey is a graphic designer and was able to create all the printed elements such as table numbers and signs herself. She says, “We also did the invitation packages, table cloths, seating chart and info board. I personally found that the most stressful part of the wedding was the DIY projects. They ended up being more trouble than anything else and cost way more time and money than anticipated. I love how they turned out but for me personally, I learned to do anything DIY early and keep it to a minimum!” – C

FAVOURITE THINGS: “We found an adorable idea for table number centerpieces. We put a photo of the bride and groom at each age that corresponded with the table number. Guests loved it! We loved having a sweetheart table for just us. It gave us time to eat and also enjoy each other’s company. We could see all of our guests enjoying the night and felt like we were with them all.” – C&J

CAKE: Kandy’s Cakes, Stratford (bit.ly/ KandysCakes) Delicious carrot cake.

WEDDING FAVOURS: Rheo Thompson Mint Smoothies (‘Mint to Be’) “Everyone loves Rheo Thompson mint smoothies and they are just around the corner from Revival House so it gave it a local feel.” – C

“I bought a dress from David’s Bridal that I liked, but knew with some tweaking it could become my one-of-a-kind dress. I took it to Francy’s Design & Alteration and worked with her to come up with something amazing! She was the kindest lady and worked so hard to make sure that I had my perfect dress! Her expertise showed when she gave suggestions that turned a nice dress into something better than my wildest dreams! I ditched the high heels before the ceremony and wore some gold sparkly oxfords from Ardenes! Best decision! I didn’t even worry about my feet once the whole day!” – C

MUSICIANS: Ceremony: The couple’s friend, Evan
Reception: Kraig from 9House Entertainment (9house.net)

HAIR: Lauren from Tangled Salon & Spa, Milton (facebook.com/stylingbylauren/)

MAKE-UP: The couple’s friend, Lisa

OFFICIANT: Ron Burdock

CATERING: Revival House “Revival House delivered an incredible meal that everyone was raving about! They make everything in house and create with fresh and local ingredients.” – C&J

BIGGEST CHALLENGE: “People have lots of opinions around a wedding! I didn’t realize how much until we announced our engagement and already people were telling me what I should and shouldn’t do. My friend gave me the best advice… to sit down right at the beginning with your fiance and decide what on your wedding day is the most important to you and then let everything else go.” -C

BEST MEMORIES: “The look of love and pride on my fiance’s face when he first saw me. Doing a first look before the ceremony. Being surrounded by the people we love and who love us!” – C

ADVICE, ONE BRIDE TO ANOTHER: “Plan early. Things may go wrong and you will feel a lot better when you have time to account for it. When something as shipped broken or a DIY went awry, we had enough time to get everything resolved. Watch for sales, you can save a ton and no one will even know! Have Fun. Cliche but don’t stress about all the details. The things you spent the most time worrying about, people might not even notice.”- C&J
