The Ring joins 400 couples as they race through London for a 14,000 engagement ring

When we had the opportunity to help one lucky couple win a 14,000 Lazare diamond ring, we couldn’t pass it up. So, a few weeks ago, we headed to London to hang out with almost 400 couples, all part of the 1st Annual Great Nash Diamond Dash.
Equipped with cell phones and running shoes, couples made their way through the city, receiving clues sent to their phones that sent them to different locations throughout the downtown core. When a couple completed a challenge, they were given a secret word to text in to earn points. Everyone had two hours to do as many challenges and collect as many points as possible.

We wanted our challenge to be totally unique and interactive. So, we asked couples to share their funniest moments surrounding their wedding. With a video camera in hand, we captured some great stories for Ring TV.

Some couples in the dash seemed to have technical difficulties with receiving clues and needed to be rescued by others willing to share the clue with the competition. But despite this hiccup, you'd never know there was a problem. Couples received the final message to meet at a local bar. As the crowd spilled in, you could feel the buzz of anticipation.

The Dash team and FM96 made the announcement, calling out winners' names from the sixth place finish up to to first. The winning couple got a call to their cell phone, asking them the make their way to the stage.
Our favourite moment came as the future groom took the ring, got down on one knee and proposed (she said yes)!

It was a great day with an even better proposal story. And we can’t wait for next year!
