Laura’s mom, who just happened to be a seamstress with 35 years of experience, made Laura the dress that she wore for the ceremony, which was followed by a comfortable black and white bridesmaid dress from Ladybug Bridal in Guelph that Laura wore to the reception.

Laura’s killer black stiletto shoes were accented with white stitching, which she wore for the ceremony with the handmade dress. To be able to dance the night away, Laura changed into a pair of grometted black flats for the reception. Jewellery was simple – a strand of champagne pearls that belonged to Steve's grandmother and a pair of matching earrings.

Steve's suit was from Tiger of Sweden, which he paired with a green shirt, argyle socks, and black denim and leather zippered boots. Unfortunately, the boots didn’t hold out for the day, so Steve wore a pair of canvas skull sneakers for the reception. “We like to keep it classy,” they told us. Steve also wore a rhinestone lightning bolt belt buckle to match his roller derby announcing personality – Lightning Slim.
