DESIGN PALETTE: sweet spring
It's one thing to create large and lavish décor styles to wow your guests from extravagant centrepieces to towering chandeliers. But sometimes, it's all about the details. For the Fall/Winter 2010 issue of The Wedding Ring Magazine, we collaborated with two of our favourite decorators, and one of our favourite photographers to show you how you could use peacock feathers as inspiration for décor details based on deep purples, blues and fancy feathers. We also created a sparkly and glamorous look that was inspired by a crystal chandelier and all the bling that went with it.
Here, we've joined forces again to show you how light pastels, bright yellows and jewelled winged things can come together in the details of your day to create a fun atmosphere for an early Spring wedding.
Mary Bruce from Do it in Style and Maria Robertson from M&R Weddings used their creativity in this design palette to create a light and airy style. Combining fresh greens, light blues, pale yellows and just a touch of bling, this sunny palette is reminiscent of the first signs of Spring. With colourful orchids and greenery combined with crystal dragonflies and flowers, it's easy to see how this design palette would fit perfectly into an April or May affair.

Simple centrepiece vases are accented with complementary river rocks and sand, and a simple yellow sash is made just a bit more elegant with a lavender sparkly buckle. Sheer overlays tie in the green, yellow and white colour accents and add a bit of flair to the usual plain tablecloths with their circle pattern.

(MORE) IDEAS:Incorporate this design palette into other areas of your day with dragonfly and orchid accents on your cake or in your bouquets. Start the pastel theme with light coloured stationery, and have your bridesmaids decked out in a canary yellow, periwinkle purple, or celadon green. Better yet, have your shoes dyed a pastel colour!
