How to Host a Memorable Bachelorette

Bachelorette parties are a right of passage to the much anticipated married life that awaits the soon-to-be bride. Formerly, bachelorette parties were seen as the bride’s last night as a single woman. In recent years, bachelorette parties have become more creative, involving a variety of fun activities to make the evening memorable for all involved. It should be a celebration of the bride and a chance for her to spend a fun night with her ladies.
Here are some tips for planning the perfect bachelorette…1. The bride should not have to pay for anything. Be sure that the activities are within everyone’s price range. The bride’s fees should be split among attending ladies or the bridal party.
2. Make it a surprise! Most women love surprises. Why not make her wait in anticipation to see what’s happening.
3. Always plan with the bride’s personality and wishes in mind. Although you may think a male stripper would be fun, she may not be so keen on the idea.
4. Don’t plan the party for the night before the wedding. This is a stressful time for both the bride and groom.
Ideas for the event itself…
1. Take a trip to the spa for some afternoon pedicures or recreate your own spa at home.
2. Make reservations at the bride’s favourite restaurant for dinner.
3. Go to the bar. Once you’ve started dancing, you won’t want to stop. Bars are also fun places to make your bride complete a list of challenges or a scavenger hunt.
4. Book a hotel suite for the weekend or have a slumber party. Make sure you have a responsible and sober person to oversee the evening and be the designated driver, or call a cab. ■
