Julie Broadbent Photography’s style…

Having majored in photojournalism, Julie shoots with a candid style that captures priceless moments and also allows clients to relax in front of the camera, resulting in true, heartfelt, love-filled photos.

Kerri Marineau, who got married on November 26, 2011, choose Julie Broadbent Photography after following her work on Facebook and seeing her portfolio. “I thought her pictures were amazing,” says Kerri. For Kerri and her husband, the whole experience was fun and relaxing. “I find taking pictures awkward at times but she made it so easy. She made us feel comfortable and made us laugh!” Kerry adds that Julie’s prices and packages were another big part of her decision to hire Julie. She enlisted Julie’s services for her engagement, wedding, maternity, two newborn sessions and family pictures.

“We have had many photoshoots with Julie and they are all always fun and easy going,” Kerri says, adding that the packages are affordable and amazing. “She has a lot of creativity and puts a lot of thought into all the pictures she takes.”

Jennifer Anderson married on September 26, 2015 and says that Julie was there to capture all the moments throughout the day. Julie was also there for Jennifer’s engagement session. In fact, the engagement shoot was one of Jennifer’s favourite moments while working with Julie.

“It was outside during the winter and Julie really let us have fun with it. The pictures turned out amazingly well. She also has a similar personality as my husband and I, so we got along really well,” Jennifer admits.

Julie also brings knowledge and planning tips to the table. Having shot at countless locations, she can offer a wealth of knowledge and shoot styling ideas and experience. Often, Julie will offer tips to help prepare for photos and to help make the best of the time you spend together to create the best photography possible.

After meeting Julie for the first time, Kelly D’Aguilar, who got married in October of 2015 describes her as being sweet, helpful and enthusiastic. “Julie provided all the information we needed to be prepared, kept in touch before our event and was there on time for our special day. She was sweet to our family, took all the photos we wanted, made suggestions and adapted to change as we ended up working in some wet weather,” says Kelly.

On the day of the wedding…

Depending on your needs, Julie will work with you to determine how many hours to book for the wedding day. Typically, Julie and a second shooter/assistant are at the wedding to ensure all moments are caught on camera. “My assistant photographer will be my second pair of eyes on the day of the wedding and will help capture moments from a different perspective,” Julie says.

Whether you want a traditional church ceremony, rustic barn wedding or relaxing backyard setting, Julie is very flexible. In fact, she often goes one step further to scout out the location of a wedding if it’s a new venue for her to shoot at.

Jenni Woodrow-Veneruz got married on June 20, 2015 in her backyard. Prior to the wedding day, Julie came for a visit to plan out some photo locations in the garden. “It was my second wedding and we wanted things to be casual and fun and she certainly delivered. Our pictures were lovely and she directed everyone efficiently. We got all the combinations of family that we had asked for,” says Jenni. “She was good with the younger kids and managed to get some smiles. Pictures were on time and nicely edited.”

Pricing and packages

What was unanimous among the couples we interviewed was that Julie Broadbent Photography’s wedding packages (which range from $1950 to $3900) are competitive and a big selling point.

For Kelly, she really liked the option of being able to choose an all-inclusive package. “I knew exactly what I was getting and how much it would cost. Very effective for budgeting and her prices were reasonable. Being able to pay online via email transfer was a bonus as well,” Kelly says. “I think her packages are comparable to other companies, with the online viewing of the photos and a hard copy for us to keep. What she did do for us that others may not have, was having some photos ready for us early to share with our family members that were not present with us on the day, but came for a special dinner soon after. Also our hard copy showed up safely in the mail with pretty packaging, a sweet note and a magnet photo with a collage of some of our wedding photos,” says Kelly, adding that that was such a nice surprise.

Jennifer says, “Since I had a small wedding, she was able to customize a package that worked for me and my budget,” Jennifer says, adding that working with Julie was great – she took my vision and brought it to life.”
When asked if they would recommend Julie Broadbent Photography to other brides, all four women answered yes.

“Save your time and aggravation shopping around and just go to someone you can trust, count on and who will give you a fair price for a great experience and beautiful memories for years to come. Use Julie Broadbent for your photographer,” Kelly says.
