After watching couples tie the knot at Dundee Country Club for several years now, staff at The Ring were excited to finally have our chance to interview and review the staff and facilities for ourselves. Here's what we found...

You’ve probably seen The Holiday Inn Kitchener-Waterloo Hotel & Conference Centre numerous times as it’s been a fixture in Kitchener since the 1960s, and perhaps you’ve even set foot inside or spent the night. But what you may not be aware of (and what we recently discovered) are the elegant ballrooms within and the option for an on-site ceremony that have catered to about thirty-five weddings per year. Hivi Yasin, Catering Manager, along with Executive Chef, Dave Goodwin and Banquet Manager, Yoga Santhaneswaran, are part of the professional team who say their main focus is providing fantastic and unparalleled customer service, amazing cuisine and a beautiful end product for each wedding – a feat that several local brides seem to agree they pull off well. But brides aren’t the only ones recommending the Holiday Inn K-W as the Inn was also the Reader's Select Winner for favourite K-W hotel for six years in a row and favourite K-W Chef for three years in a row.

Paul Cummings, the Head Chef and Owner of Indulge Natural and Organic Kitchen, is putting inspiration and the local farming community back into the art of planning a wedding menu. He uses a bistro-style cooking approach and ingredients that are local, seasonal and chemical-free wherever possible to put a new twist on traditional dishes.
Whether he’s serving from his Kitchener Farmer’s Market location, catering
peanut butter panna cotta with caramel and a raspberry coulis (his take on his clients’ all-time favourite food - PB&Js) to 300 wedding guests, or teaching clients how to cook something new in their own homes, this Stratford Chefs School grad seems to look at cooking with a fresh perspective – and it’s obvious he’s having fun while he’s at it.
