Q&A with a NithRidge bride & groom

Photography by re:action photography (www.reactionphotography.ca)

If you're a member of The Ring, you already know that interviewing brides is a big part of The Wedding Ring's pursuit of doing the research so that you don't have to.

For each review we write, we also interview three to five (sometimes many more) couples who worked with the vendor in question. So it's safe to say that over the past couple of years, we've heard thousands of first hand accounts of who brides hire and why.

Recently, we interviewed Caylyn and Claudio Sa about where they tied the knot, how they chose, how they budgeted, and in the end, what the results were. With everything from pouring rain and critical budgeting to romantic fireworks under the stars, we just had to share this interview. This is The Ring's Q&A with Caylyn and Claudio Sa about their July 17, 2010 wedding at NithRidge Estate Weddings & Events (www.nithridge.com).

Caylyn and Claudio used NithRidge for their rehearsal and rehearsal dinner, wedding day hair and make-up for the bridal party (with breakfast served), ceremony, photos, and reception.

Thanks to Scott McQuarrie from re:action photography for letting us share these fab photos!

Q. With so many location options available in the community, what was your biggest reason for choosing NithRidge Estate Weddings & Events for your wedding location?

A. NithRidge Estate was the only venue in the area, from London to Toronto, that offered a beautifully landscaped ceremony area on the river, multiple photo locations around the grounds, and a tented patio that held the quantity of guests we had. The venue location was quiet and secluded from the city, but still within 30 minutes from Guelph, Kitchener, and Cambridge. NithRidge had the whole package in one location, rehearsal dinner, hair, make-up, and dressing area for bridesmaids, ceremony, photos, and reception all in one, no driving to multiple sites, which saved on time, money and frustration.

Q. What do you like best about the options they had for you to choose from?

A. We worked together with NithRidge to give us a total package wedding that would work within our budget. NithRidge offered contacts for photography, catering, hair, make-up, DJ, décor services, florist services, and even their own horses and antique carriage if we wanted. While we already had a few vendors booked (off theweddingring.ca), we used NithRidge’s contacts for hair, make-up, and catering services, and were very pleased with the results. It was a plus working with vendors (i.e. caterer) that already had a good working relationship with the venue, so there was little miscommunication throughout the planning.

Q. Was there anything they offered that you couldn’t find anywhere else?

A. NithRidge didn’t just offer a good location, they offered an experience, and created an atmosphere you just can’t get anywhere else. Every single guest said ‘I’ve never been anywhere like this before, and I’ve never been to a wedding as beautiful.’ Nowhere could we find a tented patio (that was not just on grass, good thing, since it poured the day of the wedding), and a ceremony area outside that was as gorgeous as NithRidge. And I’m sure there isn’t a single venue that has owners/planners that would match Marlene and Terry.  ‘Above and beyond’ doesn’t even describe what they went through that day. They acted as though it was their own kids getting married, and wouldn’t stop until everything was perfect.
