Inspired by Spring Bouquets
Written by Staff @ The Ring with Carrie Lynn Weber, Floral Designer
With balmy March weather melting away the layers of snow, spring will soon be officially sprung, and so too will lustrous pastel, fresh green and crisp white flowers that come with it. Floral designer, Carrie Lynn Weber says spring flowers can create some of the most gorgeous wedding bouquets, and she proves it with two of her favourites from recent weddings...
In this bouquet [featured right], Carrie Lynn has brought together a fresh melody of springtime blooms that marries double tulips, peonies, and ranunculus mingled with everyday blooms of pink ginger, orchids and callas – all of which, she says, are in their prime during the months of spring. The greens, pinks, pale yellows and whites in this bouquet have given its lush, full design a fresh and sweet look.
Carrie Lynn says double tulips are a wonderful early spring flower (one that often goes unnoticed in lieu of the more commonly known variety). They come in fewer colours, but have fuller blooms with more than the usual six petals. Some have so many petals that they look more like peonies than tulips. On the other hand, pink ginger, which is grown in warmer climates, can add a tropical flair and unique element to any bride's bouquet.
When it comes to spring bouquets or bouquets that are simply inspired by spring, Carrie Lynn's an expert at knowing what's in season and ready to look fabulous in your wedding photos. The pristine, white arrangements [featured left] are made entirely of white anemones. "They are gorgeous in April and May but are ready as early as February. They're a great choice for late winter or early spring weddings and are available in pink, purple, red and white." Carrie Lynn says she would never let a bride choose flowers that weren’t going to last throughout her entire wedding day.
