High school sweethearts share their Hamilton wedding plans and ideas

Story by Carla @ The Ring (with help from the bride)

Michelle and Jonathan first met each other in grade seven and were inseparable from then until they graduated high school, well, at least as desk mates thanks to alphabetical seat arrangements.

The two dated on and off in high school and stayed close friends before growing apart when Michelle moved to Toronto and Jon went to Hamilton for school. In the summer of 2003, while they were both back home in Woodstock, they got together to catch up and that's when, they say, "Something just clicked... The timing was finally right."

On Valentine's Day in 2009, Jon took Michelle to Joe Badali's in Toronto where they hadPhoto by StreeterStevens Photography shared a date together five years earlier. After dinner, they returned home. There, surrounded by candles and their dogs, he proposed - a quiet, romantic proposal. "It was us... It couldn't have been more perfect," says Michelle. "Obviously, I said yes - once I rememberd how to talk again!" Jon gave Michelle a beautiful princess-cut Canadian diamond solitaire set in white gold.

Now, the two reside in Hamilton with their two dogs and cat and are in the midst of planning their wedding that's set for September 17, 2010.

With a limited budget, a family of talent to draw from, and their favourite Hamilton wedding vendors, Michelle and Jon's plans are in full swing and they were helpful enough to share some of their ideas and advice for other Hamilton area brides with us...
