Casting Call: For "Up and Coming" Bridal Industry Professionals

There's never a dull moment on the Slice Network. If you've subscribed to The Ring's Bridal eNews, then you get our casting calls all the time, looking for couples for new and long-running TV series' on Slice. However this casting call is different. It's looking for 'up and coming' bridal industry professionals. The chosen five will play parts in a reality TV series, 'The Perfect Dress', a show that's all about doing whatever it takes to get each bride her dream wedding day look.

If you're perfect to play one of the parts below (or know someone who would be), it's your turn to jump through some hoops, get creative on video, and apply to be on the show. Check it out...

'The Perfect Dress' Casting Call

The Perfect Dress is an exciting new bridal fashion reality TV series, from Peace Point Entertainment, for Slice Network, that focuses on a ‘Pop-Up’ Bridal boutique and its professional team; an ensemble of colourful, committed characters that care about the bliss of each bride.  Along the road to finding the perfect dress, there are inevitable detours and speed bumps, but the team’s mission is to get inside each woman’s wedding fantasy and create a look of pure beauty for every bride’s special day.

CASTING: The Bridal Boutique Team – 5 professionals

The ensemble members MUST live within 90 minutes of Toronto. 

The Bridal Fashion Intern - a fashion design student or aspiring bridal stylist with that ‘Queen West’ style, confidence and personality plus with an attention to detail; retail experience not required; interest in bridal fashion a must. 

The ‘Up and Coming’ Bridal Consultant – this male bridal consultant is outspoken and strong-willed. His design sensibility ranges from traditional to the avant-garde.  He is not afraid of taking risks and encourages his brides to do the same. He can find a dress for any woman to make her feel like a superstar.

The Office Manager – this realist who is happy to share her own opinions deals with the dollars and cents and protects the business side of the business and is often found juggling discounts, trunk shows and pulling in favors to keep the salon successful. Retail management preferred; interest in bridal is a must.

The Bridal Boutique Receptionist – he/she is the front line ambassador of boutique and is the first impression for brides. Fashion graduate with or without bridal experience.

The Fashion Retail Marketer – this larger than life dynamo is an experienced fashion retail business genius and PR expert with knowledge/experience in Pop-Up retail. He/she can get businesses up and running then packed up before competitors can draft a business plan.  No bridal experience necessary.

MUST REQUIREMENTS FOR APPLICATION SUBMISSION:

• Photo and Resume/BIO
  

• 2 minute ‘WALK AND TALK’ VIDEO – can be shot with a home camcorder. Please shoot a lively, outspoken ‘walk and talk’ video, chatting directly to camera, as you tour a bridal salon, boutique or stroll through the fashion district, giving us your 3 most important tips/advice for either:

          a) Brides when they are buying their wedding dress.

          b) Marketing and managing a new retail operation.

          ** VIDEOS to be submitted through www.yousendit.com or www.megaupload.com. Must be at least 40MB and in .mov format

The Ring's 2012 Online Auction for Ontario has arrived! Wedding experts from across Southwestern Ontario have donated some of their biggest sellers to the auction.

Items donated to this year's auction range from photo booths, a Windsor Arms Hotel package and wedding cakes to wedding flowers, bridal shoes and chocolate biscotti.  

Items will be posted and bidding opened on Monday, January 30th 2012!

That means that first thing Monday morning - before you head out into the day - you'll want to brew some coffee, log onto the net, and visit here to check out the 40+ auction items and start placing your opening bids!
