Thank you for the response. The wedding is taking place on Friday, September 28th, at the Gazebo on Victoria Park Island. I'm trying to decide where the best place to set up the chairs and to have the processional, as we will be married on the steps of the Gazebo.

Hey ladies,
I am a new photographer wanting to build a wedding portfolio in the hamilton area.
I am wondering what you think would be a reasonable rate to charge a couple if I want to start out and use their wedding photos in part of my portfolio, or on my website?
I have no idea what the going rate is right now or what the average bride would expect to pay for services.

Thanks!

Our wedding is going to be small anyway but we are having it in the summer so people usually take holidays. It saved us so much money on the venue we just couldn't see having it on a Saturday after we saw the price difference!

We are planning to get married at Aeolian Hall in London, ON in June 2013. We had thought we could have the ceremony and reception there, but it turns out the logistics of having a changeover between ceremony and reception would be a little sticky. So now we are looking for a nearby ceremony location. Not necessarily a church. Preferably a cool, historical building in Old East London. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks, everyone.

Hear me out. After my wedding ceremony, I have booked the restaurant next door to the venue for a cocktail hour. We are going to have the restaurant do up big appy platters, and I would like to buy everyone a drink but as my reception is open bar (with much more affordable alcohol) I don't want everyone going crazy at cocktail hour. I don't want everyone to be drunk so early on, and I don't want the added expense as we will have pre-bought booze for the reception. I am not sure how to get around this except for drink tickets, but I worry that is tacky.

Any advice??

Welcome, and congrats on setting a date. If you can budget it in, hire a planner/coordinator. I ended up doing that and it's been a HUGE stress relief. She's familiar w/all the vendors in the area and knows who's reputable and who isn't. I've heard & read plenty of horror stories as the one above w/the wedding flowers and feel that w/the help of a planner incidents like that will be unlikely. Good Luck!

I had my wedding in Cambridge, at The Pines. It was $100 per person. My BIL and SIL had their whole wedding at Grey Silo golf course. It was very nice. I have no idea what cost may be.
