Reception photo location ideas 2 Years, 1 Month ago Karma: 0
I live in Hamilton, my wedding is in Burlington. I grew up in Barrie and moved to Hamilton in March last year. I'm having trouble with trying to figure out a good location to go to to have photos taking after the wedding.

The date is May 3rd, it's a small wedding with about 13 people. I'm wearing an ivory dress with a dark red/burgundy trim and my fiance has a gray suit. We don't have professional photographers and we can't afford to pay permits or any other admission fee (so that leaves out the Royal Botanical Gardens, which is what we were thinking about before, but then we found out we had to pay about 180 to take pictures there just because it's for a wedding). My only options right now that I've been able to find are Spencer Smith Park, Paletta Lakefront Park & Mansion, & La Salle Park. I've tried looking up pictures for a bunch of parks located near the wedding, but there's next to nothing in the way of pictures.

So, to sum it up, I'm looking for free places to take wedding photos in either Burlington or Hamilton that has a lot of good locations and/or landmarks to take photos in front of for May 3rd.

Paletta Mansion is GORGEOUS - the grounds and waterfront are stunning. I would definitely choose that one. Here's a photo I took of a couple there last May.

I did contact them and they said they have an event there until 5:30, and they also said they don't allow wedding photos to be taking there.... I'm going to contact them again and question this policy. Maybe he was just confused and thought I only wanted photos taking in the mansion. But honestly, its the grounds that are truly gorgeous where I want my pictures.

Well, this particular couple did have their entire wedding at the mansion, so they were definitely allowed to have their pictures taken there. However during the day, I noticed public walking along the waterfront - so I don't know if they're more lenient as far as getting pictures at the waterfront without actually having your event there. Hmmmmm... you're right, you might as well call and ask!
