2011 wedding decor trends! 2 Years ago Karma: 4
Are we ready for 2011??? Just attended some great inspiration grabbing event decor seminars/conventions.
New colours, beautiful table top decor, new textures for linen, alternative centerpiece and feature table "Wow" factor options. We are busy re-inventing our inventory and getting creative. Look for our inspiration colour pair pairings and trend spotting in the upcoming weddingring e-bridal news.
One of the big trends for 2011 is creating effective minimalism. Not modern design, just effective and well-placed design elements, effective floral statements, washes and patterns of lighting as opposed to pinspots, and focusing the energy and design into the heart of the party. For example, place suspension decor elements over a guest table, feature table or a basic dance floor. The effect is much more impactful.
2011 will be presenting more metallics and metal-inspired finishes — an Old World feel presented with a New World sensibility— gold leaf, silver leaf, bronze and copper. All of these done with an underlying color of unexpected hue: turquoise, magentas, yellow, kelly green. What do you see as the trends blazer for 2011??

Looks like your brides are right on the money! Those are some of the hottest colour pairings for 2011. We have seen a lot of silver in 2009/2010. However, 2011 serves it up hot with the
re-introduction of the warm metals such as gold and bronze. Black and white continue to reign strong throughout 2011. 2011 freshens the look by adding more texture to the palette. Make a fashion forward statement with the addition of damask , black & white flocking , pock -it- dot or stripes as accents and turn up the drama. Add turquoise, lemon yellow or hot orange for a funky yet classic modern look.

Hi everyone!
My name is Dominik and I'm the President of Canvas Memories - www.canvasmemories.ca
In the past year, we've seen an increase of canvas requests of couples engagement photos. We have had couples ordering anywhere from 1 to 12 photos on canvas. Some of our customers told us that they use these engagement canvases to decorate their wedding reception hall. They loved the idea of making the hall more personal with photos of the couple in different engagement shots. The couples loves this idea because at the end of the wedding they get to keep their 'canvas decorations' and give them away to their close family such as their parents and grandparents. When we started hearing this idea from our customers - we absolutely loved it and had to share this with all the brides in Kitchener-Waterloo.
If you have any questions - I will be happy to help!
