help!!! need venue! 2 Years, 4 Months ago Karma: 1
Hello!!!!
so just recently engaged and i've already been blabbing to family and friends that our wedding will be November 6th or 20th this coming year, 2010... i've always had my heart set on the barn at Country Heritage Park in Milton as our reception venue... its just so country with the pine beams and walls -- so perfect for my fiance and i. I inquired this morning about dates and was told that they are booked EVERY friday, saturday AND sunday in 2010... so sad.

i didn't know you had to book this far in advance! nor did i think it was that popular of a place. Can anyone please send me some suggestions on venues? i am not originally from Ontario, so pretty unfamiliar with the banquet halls..
here are some details:
- think we are expecting 150-200 people
- we love rustic, country like places (barns are awesome)
- can be in guelph, milton, rockwood, acton, oakville, kitchener, cambridge or close surrounding areas
- something suitable for winter wedding... hopefully november, but i guess i am going to have to be flexible, now, eh?

cheers to all the brides!!!! yayeeee

Hey there! We're a photography studio (actually in Milton, too - weird!) - and we shot a wedding this fall at Belcroft Estates and tree farm - OMG you would LOVE IT from the sounds of it. It's very rustic, has the most amazing barns on site (fully functional, and one is LOADED with vintage cars and signs...you have to see it to believe it). Here's some shots from the wedding we shot there: www.thesingingbarber.com/rsblog/?p=3204

Again - you REALLY have to go out there to see it for the full impact, but that'd be my recommendation! Good luck!

Thanks, and no problem! It's about an hour from Milton...very easy to find, but nice and remote and 'country' at the same time. There's literally limitless photo opps there, and the guests loved just roaming the grounds. If I think of anything similar, but a bit closer, I'll let you know!

Hi
There is Hauser Hall.
www.hauserhall.com/

I'm getting married at The Walper Terrace hotel. It is not rustic but it is full of history and tonnes of character.

BTW if you pick a Friday many places offer discounts. We picked a Friday and so far we have saved about $2000!!

Too bad the Country Haritage Park is a great location and the barn is great. I love photographing at Rustic locations. Couple spots come to mind for alternatives.

~ Rockwood Conservation - at the ruins however too cold for November and they will be closed
~ Elora Mill - lots of great spots around there to shoot - I dont know their max capacity though
~ Hauser hall for sure - I dont know their max capacity either

~ Grey Silo - Really Nice rustic interior however it is a Golf Course, so for outdoor rustic photos not too much, Nowever it will hold all of your guests. Personally for the amount of people you are expecting this would be my choice. I would photograph the Families at the silo, and then take a little adventure out to St.Jacobs for wedding party and Bride/Groom photos.

~ There is another wedding spot just north of Brampton ( I will have to get the name of it) where I have photographed. It is a Horse farm with a TON of photo opportunities. Lakes, old Barns, Cover Bridge, and a Nice reception Hall. IT might just be a summertime Ceremony Location though - I have only done summer weddings facing the lake.

~ Westfield Heritage Village is another Great location - It is a an old village with a ton of Photo OPs. Problem is ( with alot of heritage parks) they don't usually have enough indoor space for Winter weddings - Mainly designed for Summer Weddings. www.westfieldheritage.ca/

With your requirements, I would Make Grey Silo as my #1 choice and travel for photos, followed closely by Hauser Hall and the Elora Mill.

If you want any photos of Grey Silo, you can just email me at info@2tonestudios.ca and I will be happy to help you out. If any other spots come of mind I will forward them as well

Thank-you,
Kurt
