Venue Question 1 Year, 4 Months ago Karma: 0
Hey everyone, I'm leaning towards having the ceremony & reception at a hotel for the venue because the idea of also staying at that hotel (thereby having an all-in-one service) seems so convenient! However, I'm worried about the cost -- can anyone tell me, typically, how much more it costs to do (almost) everything through the hotel (but still bring in some of your own decorations), as opposed to using multiple services??
This is the very first thing my fiance and I need to decide regarding our budget, I feel like I can't get started until we make this decision!! The wedding will be in London, our home town, and the majority of guests live in or near London, however, there are a handful of out-of-town guests, and we will also be traveling from Ottawa at the time of the wedding next year. Any advice on this is GREATLY APPRECIATED!

I would look at windermere mano. it is comparable to other halls, and you don't have to leave the site at all. Ceremony, pics, reception can all be done at this place

Hey! We looked at hotels here in Stratford and there were some pros and cons (we ended up booking at the Golf & Country Club, if you believe it, it was actually much cheaper there!) I lived in London but I don't know how the prices there compare with Stratford.

Pros: everything included in the price (we found they ranged from $700-$900 for rental of the room, plus meals for about $20 per person on average); rooms available for guests; decor is nice in most hotels (as opposed to renting a hall)

Cons: we found that some hotels restrict the DJs you are allowed to book, which sucks if you have someone in mind who's not on their list; also can be restrictive of what food/drinks you can or can't bring in; sometimes you can find a better price for food if you are allowed to bring in your own caterer.

Hope this helps, even though I haven't experienced pricing in London at least it gives you a comparative idea
